shop til you drop

"I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one-thousand and sixty."
-Imelda Marcos
Will and I headed to Bellevue Square today with my mom and sister.
I know we're crazy but we did find a few good deals.
Will found some red patent leather shoes he wants.
And I'm sure the sales people didn't mind that
the choices he was trying on were $565 each.

we're in trouble

the bad habit is getting worse...
buster's first sentence:
i WAN da sh-ish

Thank-Full

And we're off...First stop...Noni and Fred's house.
Will started at the table before the rest of us.
As soon as we sat down we realized his clothes would not survive the meal
so off they went. He wouldn't wear the bib without the clothes so off it went.
Then he made us all feel guilty for gorging ourselves by running laps around
the house while we ate. He joined us after dinner and devoured a piece of pumpkin pie.
The meal was everything that you dream of all year waiting for Thanksgiving.
Thanks for cooking, Mary!

We then headed over to grandpa T. and grandma Steffi's house.
We were in food comas by that point so joined them for a
bite of this and that but mostly just visited and caught up.

Last stop was Jay and Julie's for our second meal.
The cornbread stuffing was to die for.
We were in charge of mashed potatoes...they were lumpy but edible.
My stomach is overwhelmed but I am already looking forward to next year.

Chris and I are thankful for...
Our parents...and their willingness to hang out with our kid so much.
Our sibs...who also seem to like him.
Our friends who we don't get to see as much as we'd like.
Our house...which needs some work and always keeps us busy.
My vanpool...it saves us A LOT of money each month.
Our jobs...even though we'd rather win the lottery.
Each other...we think we're pretty lucky.
Our constant source of entertainment and favorite person, our HEALTHY and HAPPY Buster!

Will is thankful for...
His Lulu, Bomp, Noni, Fred, Grandma and Grandpa T.
Da sh-ish.
Henry, Lucy and his other fun friends.
His binky and blanky.
His aunties Erin (especially), Rachel, Laurie and Katie and uncle Mike.
The zoo.
Donuts, peas, broccoli, grapes, juice, milk, cookies, dried fruit, food in general.
His bed.
Balls.
Toddler Gym and the swimming pool.
His cool parents.

And leftovers are good, too!

I wanna be like dad

Second day in a row we've caught him like this.
Chris didn't get it on camera because the seat was
up yesterday and he thought he would fall in.
I told him it would have been worth it.
Luckily he's regular and hit his throne again this afternoon.
I wonder where he gets it?

cheerios and milk

Dead serious about his cheerios and milk.

pictures from the "zoo"

We went to the Woodland Park Zoo today with
the Williams and the Bruchs.
We were kind of a zoo within a zoo,
especially while we ate lunch.
We had a great time seeing the monkeys, elephants,
tigers and lions but I forgot my camera (loser, I know).
So, this is as close as we're going to get to a pic of Will with the animals.
After his afternoon nap he asked about
15 times to watch the "sh-ish" (fish) movie.
I know, I know, I shouldn't be encouraging this
but I am seriously digging that he will sit quietly
for ten or fifteen minutes and watch a movie.
If he fails his WASL and scores 700 on his SATs
when he grows up at least we'll know why:)

same old boring park pictures, different day

dang it was cold but he would have stayed all night.

i'm not a fan...

Will decided that he doesn't need a morning nap anymore.
This the result.
I am not a fan.
Everyone said ditching the nap it is kind of nice
because you aren't tied to the house as much but
I have found that I am instead tied to the time out
corner because he is misbehaving and hitting so much.
It's making me need a morning nap.

obsessed

"I wish I liked anything as much as my kids like bubbles!"
-Pete to Ben Stone in Knocked Up
One thing I love about kids is that they
can have ten or twenty obsessions going all at once.
For some reason it feels like I have to save the
word obsession, when I am refering to myself, for
those rare new loves that hang around for quite a
while. With kids they seem to have a new obsession
every day and the new rarely take the place of
the old. They are just added to the list.
The first thing I want to hear about when I talk to my
friends is is what their kids new obsessions are.
It conveys such love of and excitement for "stuff"
that we often take for granted.
Will's obsessions this week are basketball,
saying "hey, dude" and trains that say "choo, choooo"
he loves watching the big guys shoot hoops at the Y

he has somehow learned that you are supposed
jump when you shoot so he now concentrates more
on jumping than actually shooting.

slam dunk...white men can't jump!

"D"ing up Bompa

bring it on, old man!

Here's to a lifetime of entertaining ourselves with our kids "new" obsessions.

meet the fosters...

Lisa and Jordan got hitched on Saturday.
the wedding party
(it was halloween and a crazy bridesmaid MADE all of those masks!)

first peek
Jordan was the perfect amount of emotional

It was a high school and college reunion for Chris and I which was fun.

the night ended with great dancing

...and a trip to the Clearwater Casino.
I won 50 cents (yes, 50 cents) and
Chris walked away a winner when I
pulled him away from the craps table
because we were going to be late getting home.
Saved by the sitter:)
Congrats to the Fosters who are enjoying the beauty of Maui as I type.
What a meaningful, sweet, fun, exciting, dance infused,
beautiful wedding and rehearsal dinner it was.
We look forward to sharing a long, happy and fun life with the two of you!
